August 15th : Independence Day
Independence Day was celebrated with unprecedented patriotic fervor on August 15th, 2018. The children of class VIII, IX, X assembled on the ground. The chief guest Mr. Oneil Almeida unfurled the tricolor. The song “Jhanda uncha Reha Hamara” echoed in the entire campus.
Thereafter the programme started by welcoming the honourable chief guest Mr. Oneil Almeida; this was followed by a song sung by a group of children as a tribute to the soldiers (Baalak Aamhi Baartvaasai), Ms. Anokhi Thakur from class IX sang a song “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo”; Intentions were read by student IX students; an inspiring speech was given by Ms. Sanika from std. IX, a group of children sang a patriotic song “A prayer for the country”. A skit was staged by class IX students reveling the views of different people about Independence Day. A group of girls from std. IX performed a dance that displayed there is a driving force inside every human being that once unleashed can make any vision, any dream or desire a reality.
At the end the honourable chief guest Mr. Oneil Almeida, the director of B.C.C.B gave a inspiring speech reminding the students of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters, and that we should serve our motherland with all our heart, body and soul. He also gave us information on the social work done by him to help the farmers in Vasai. Thereafter the school song was sung with great respect and the programme ended with a big round of applauds and cheers of “Vande Mataram” rent the air.
