Teachers’ Day Celebration
‘A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.’
Every year teachers’ day is celebrated throughout the country on 5th September. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – a great academic philosopher. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as teachers’ day.
A celebration was conducted by a group of teachers and students on 31st August, 2019 in Notre Dame School, Vasai at 8:00 am. The whole function was very well planned. The celebration began with invoking God’s blessings with Holy Mass at 8:15 am; followed by small celebration by the students with their class teachers in their respective classrooms. Then there was a common programme organized by the students of different classes for all the teachers in the school hall. The programme began with prayer, intentions followed with lots of entertaining programmes. At the end the Principal Sr. Shylaja gave her words of wisdom to everyone present there and thanked all the teachers and students who organized the programme.
The later part of the programme was organized by the Student Council Members. It was full of fun as they conducted games for the teachers. At the end of this programme, teacher Ensweeta expressed gratitude on behalf of all the teachers. The programme was continued by the PTA members. They too as a token of love had organized a small programme for all the teachers. The PTA president Mr. Tushar Raut and one of the PTA Members Mr. Lucas Pereira spoke a few words as a tribute to all the teachers for their valuable contribution towards building the society. Lunch was organized for all the teachers and staff members. At the end of the programme Sr. Shylaja gave a teachers’ day gift to all teachers and staff members as a token of love and appreciation. The programme ended happily with a beautiful clicking of photo of the whole Notre Dame Family.
